Tour Day Information

Accessibility & Safety

It is regrettable, but there is no accessibility beyond the entrance and upper landing for guests with limited mobility and/ users of mobility aids. There is no lift or ramp access, and the main parts of the house, gallery and gardens are only accessible via a steep staircase inside.

Children & Young People

TheWe regret that Picker House is not particularly child friendly, due to the erotic nature of some of the art works on display. We do however encourage young people and students who are interested in art, design and architecture to join our tours.

More information available on request.

Arrival

Picker is a private residence as well as a museum, please arrive no earlier that 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the tour.

If you are going to be late please let Sofia know asap, and know that the tour will wait approximately five mins before starting, but you will be welcome to join upon arrival regardless.

Photography & Food

There is strictly NO PHOTOGRAPHY or FILMING inside the house or gallery. We also politely request that guests do not consume food or hot drinks while inside the house.

Parking & Privacy

Guests are asked not to park in the private residential streets surrounding the house. There is ample parking on the drive. To reserve a space please contact Sofia by email and she will arrange it with you.

Further, we ask that visitors respect our neighbours right to privacy during arrival to and departure from PICKER.

Bags & Footwear

We recommend that guests leave their bags and coats in the upstairs lobby for the duration of the tour to prevent over-crowding and mishaps in the smaller spaces of the house. Upon entry you will also be asked to wear shoe covers to further protect the original wooden finishes of the floors.

You are also welcome to bring your own slippers if you prefer!
